The Seahawks/Bills matchup was an intriguing one based upon all the talk about Thurman Thomas #34. The Hawks weren’t drinking the kool-aid prior to the game. The game started out as a feeling out process when #34 made his presence known. Then the Hawks knew it was more than just talk. Throughout the game, the Hawks were matching wits and scores with Thurman. At halftime it was Hawks 14, Thurman 13 thanks to a Hawks pick six. We got 30 more minutes of this madness.
The second half began with Thurman at it again to put the Bills up 20-14 and go for 2 and makes it, making it 21-14 Bills. The Hawks respond with a run of their own by #47 Sherman Smith to tie it up 21-21 after the XP. See how this is going. The Hawks began a last 3 minute drive to put the game away only to miss a 58 yd FG to send the game to overtime, the Hawks second OT in as many gamedays.
Bills win the toss and begin their drive on their 20 yd line only to have it go backwards on two consecutive plays back to their 9 yd line. Third down and the Bills get a WR behind the Hawks “D”. A completed pass would almost guarantee a first down if not a TD. Coach Mark sized up his target and let the ball rip, only to have it hit the Hawks #55 at the 5 yd line with one Bill between him and the goal line. #55 wins the race and gives the Hawks a 27-21 OT victory.
