The Seahawks/Bills matchup was an intriguing one based upon all the talk about Thurman Thomas #34. The Hawks weren’t drinking the kool-aid prior to the game. The game started out as a feeling out process when #34 made his presence known. Then the Hawks knew it was more than just talk. Throughout the game, the Hawks were matching wits and scores with Thurman. At halftime it was Hawks 14, Thurman 13 thanks to a Hawks pick six. We got 30 more minutes of this madness.

Another Gameday – tight games abound
June 1 Gameday had all the suspense of a Alfred Hitchcock/Stephen King movie.
All three games came down to the end with one needing overtime to decide.
Jets at Vikings starting off as a blowout but the J-E-T-S wouldn’t let it stay that way as they fought back to make the Vikings sweat. The SKOL team survives with a 49-42 win.
The Seahawks at Bills would be another thriller that took their suspense to overtime before the Hawks “D” finally stepped up in O.T. to close out the overtime with a pick six from LB# 55 for a 27-21 victory.
Then the Rams at Raiders had a barnburner with defense going back and forth as one would score the other would score. Then more and more defense. Toward the end , with Rams going for the go ahead drive, Raider #42 forced a fumble and the defense get the ball as Raiders run out the clock for a 18-14 W.

Gameday- a day away
On the eve of another gameday, LAEFL coaches are preparing to get it right this time around. After this one only one gameday left.
All the prep/strategy sessions will be put to the test Saturday. Plastic cracking will be in full force and each coach believes he has what it takes to be standing with “W”s in hand when the day is over. Not all will but that is the goal. Anything less will not be as satisfying.
Good luck coaches. May your prep/strategy get you your goal, the “W” you seek.

Ultimate Sacrifice
We the LAEFL would like to give our props to all those who gave the ultimate sacrifice (their lives) for our country and our freedom. They say freedom is not free and for all the men and women whose lives were lost this is definitely the case. But thanks to them we can enjoy a freedom that was bought by the blood and lives of all those we remember today.
We salute you, our brothers and sisters, who gave your lives for our freedom.
Happy Memorial Day to all our veterans who also fought and served our country.
Happy Memorial Day to all who enjoy this freedom.

Lull before the Storm
5-22-2019
It’s the week before another game day and LAEFL coaches are in the midst of the “Lull before the Storm”. Coaches have thought about what happened last gameday and are prepping/strategizing for what they believe will be their breakout games. Breaking out of the 0-2, 1-1 mold and breaking into that rarified air of 2-0 gameday victories. Each gameday matchup is a challenge for all coaches. This is that period when planning and strategy come together to yield the victories expected. That missed pass that could have made the difference. That run play that started out like a TD only to be snuffed when a move to the right or left opened the door for a defender to step in. The “lull” is the fun part of the game because it’s the coach and his thoughts during this time with hopes that those thoughts yield a “V” on gameday.
